Open Question: My landlord pressure-washed the outside of my building while I was out of town?

The windows were closed, but they’re old and a LOT of water leaked through the cracks. Now my curtains, bed, floor, blinds, TV, and dresser are splattered with this nasty, dried up mud.
Am I responsible for cleaning this up?
If I were here when it happened, it would have been easy (but annoying) to clean.
If I have to do it, I’ll do it, but I really think he should send someone over to clean it.
He gave me warning by taping a notice on my (and everyone else’s) door while I was out of town. So of course I didn’t receive the notice until I returned from town, and the dirt had dried up.
