Hi all!
I have a few niggles with my 1994 Mk3 1.4l petrol Vw Golf.
Basiclly the first is that i am using or losing around half a pint of water per 200miles,I can see no leaks and the rad looks in good condition. I have noticed that the cap lets of a bit of pressure and ocasionally the water seems to come out of the release bit at the top of the resevoir…

Secondly the temp guage seems to go between just before middle to nearly 3\4rs over. She only goes to near the 3\4rs mark when stuck in traffic but has never overheated. The fan comes on quite quickly after being stopped but never qhilst moving!

Is this connected? i am pretty sure its not the head as tank is clean and so is the oil.no performance issues at all.
I must add that im living inportugal at the mo and its 30degrees here,would this do it?
