Resolved Question: Pressure and Temperature flying?
Posted by adminMar 11
When a plane is flying in a warm temperature region the true altitude of a plane tends to be over the indicated altitude set by the altimeter.
Is the cause of this over flying due to the lack of pressure in the warm temperature? I know that the altimeter measures only pressure not the actual altitude.
So due to the lack of pressure in the warm region the altimeter wants to match the pressure with the given altimeter setting so it goes higher is that correct?
