Resolved Question: Failed MEPS for high heart rate. Any chance i will get a waiver?
Posted by adminJul 28
I Took the trip to meps to get my physical and swear in. I was so concerned about passing everything that i didn’t even consider the blood pressure and heart rate test. Well i didn’t sleep that night before, woke up at 4am, chugged some mountain dew and jumped on the buss to head over to the meps facility. They tested me on my blood pressure and heart rate, both were to high. They gave me several more tests and i got my blood pressure down to acceptable levels but my heart rate never dropped below 117. So i was informed that i was temporarily disqualified for heart rate. I needed to get 3 reading each day for 3 days. But my recruiter told me to get the blood pressure readings as well just to be on the safe side..The nurses who did the numbers concluded that i had white coat syndrome because of how my numbers dropped each time i was there..here were my numbers
146/70 Heart rate 90
, 140/70 heart rate 88
, 120/70 heart rate 88
124/80 Heart Rate 88,
124/64 Heart rate 88,
140/60 heart rate 80
112/68 heart rate 84,
118/78 heart rate 94,
118/70 heart rate 88
Do i have a chance for a waiver with these? or give up these and go again? If I get denied a waiver is that permanent or will i get a chance to get better numbers?
Any help will be appreciated ( full-time army if it helps)
to clarify, Are these numbers good enough for them to retest me at meps? Maybe waiver is the wrong word.
I passed the rest of the physical.
