I’ve been playing violin for 1,5 months (I’m 21). I sort of have a number of problems I find hard to overcome.

1) When I hold my bow, my fingers are all tense. Even though my teacher tells me that, for example, my thumb must be relaxed, I still can’t do it, because otherwise I won’t be able to hold the bow. What to do?

2) When I play (with the full length of the bow), it starts shaking when I relax my hand, but it doesn’t shake when I put a bit of pressure on it. It’s really a big problem for me right now. Should I fully relax or put some pressure?

I’m left-handed, by the way.

3) And also sometimes when I play, I touch other chords that I’m not supposed to. I suppose it’s because my shoulder might be too high than needed. But it happens even when it’s not too high. How can I fix it?

4) And the last question is: I already know a llot of notes on violin, for example, I know how to play all notes for this piece: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad_L6D9mnj0 but when I try playing it, it gives just a creaking sound and no real music.. Is it still too early for me to play?

According to my teacher, I’m going oretty fast compared to kids, she said that I’ve learnt in two months the same amount that first years learn in one year.
