Open Question: Should I get my thyroid checked?

I had a baby 2 months ago and am suffering from a pretty bad case of postpartum depression. I just read somewhere random online that often times thyroid problems can cause depression.
I’m thinking something IS wrong with my thyroid because before I was pregnant I always had high blood pressure (140/80 on average) and had a fast heart rate (usually in the 90’s-100’s). Everyone always assumed it was because I’m about 40lbs over-weight. I eventually had my thyroid checked and found out that it was slightly over-active, but not enough to cause any concern.
Throughout my pregnancy my BP stayed around 130/60 and sometimes lower and my heart rate stayed fast but I guess that’s normal during pregnancy.
After I had my son, I got PPD about a week after and around the same time is when i first noticed my heart rate was much slower. I went to the store and had my BP taken by one of those free machines and it was 125/60. A couple weeks later I saw my doctor and they told me my BP was 110/55. And then I just recently had it done again and it was 100/56. All these times my heart rate has ranged between 70 and 80 BPM.
Anyway, I don’t know if any of this has anything to do with my thyroid, but I’m hopeful that maybe these are signs that my thyroid is under active and is what’s causing my depression??
