Open Question: p-wave s-wave arrival time?
Posted by adminSep 7
I am using piezoelectric crystal (ceramic) as p-type s-type transducer. Since I am dealing with high pressure I have covered the transducer with aluminum or steel end caps. Now how to receive proper arrival time with less error or ringings and distortion. My signals are worst in steel compared to aluminium. Also when I trigger s-wave, I am receiving p-wave superimposed on it, but triggering p-wave am receiving real good signal. How to avoid this problem?
what are your suggestions to overcome this problem? do I have to change any materials? Epoxy resin is being used over transducer and rubber is a backing material.
Thanks for all your consideration. Looking forward for your reply.
Sincerely,
