Open Question: How did I get high blood pressure?
Posted by adminFeb 2
I went to the doctor a little over a month ago because I was having a panic attack. That was when I was diagnosed for high blood pressure. That day I had 154/100 or something like that. I’m pretty fit. I’m young and I don’t eat a lot of salts.
The doctor gave me pills that I would have to take for the rest of my life. I have always hated medication so I decided to slowly remove all the stress and focus on relaxation through daily mediation. I could still feel that my condition had not changed. I reduced my workouts because I really don’t want to get hurt in my current condition.
Today I took my pressure again for the first time in a month. 160/105 with a pulse of 75 was my high for the day and 135/95 with pulse around 68 was the norm. Deep mediation only brought my pulse down to 63 and pressure was still 133/89.
A couple of months back I was 115/70. Good numbers all the time. I don’t know how this could have happened. But I’ve went back to taking the medication the doctor gave me and signed up for another appointment next week.
I guess my other question is. Is there anything I can do about this? I’ve tried all that I know. I have decided to not stop taking my medication to I’ve at least had a chance to talk to my doctor again. This is kind of scaring me…
