I haven’t been to the dentist in a while. (No insurance but I have insurance now so I’m getting it taken care of) So I finally make an appointment since my left lower wisdom tooth was giving me some trouble. I get there and they tell me I need a deep cleaning because a regular cleaning wouldn’t do anything for me. Fine, insurance covers that (although they tried to jerk me out of 200 bucks for it) Then she tells me I need the wisdom tooth out which I knew already. And she also said I have cavities on the sides of 4 teeth (from tartar and lack of flossing)

Now the dental assistant did all of this. My x-rays, deep cleaning, talked to me about the cavities/discoloration, flossing all of that. I thought she was the dentist!!! Then the dentist walks in this drop dead gorgeous woman with no dr. coat, surgical mask or anything. She sat down and repeated everything the dental assistant told me and proceeded to tell me that she realizes now (after pressuring the dental assistant to pressure me for 200 bucks) that I am fully covered for my procedure today. Then she say that tooth has to come out…oops they should all really come out I said they should she simply said yes… no explanantion no nothing. And walked out. When the dental assistant started to clean my teeth I saw the dentist grab her hand bag and haul ass out of there laughing on her cell phone Those teeth don’t even bother me. They are just sitting there and are actually healthier than a few of the others with trouble tartar (according to the dental assistant) Smoke signals immediately went off and I wondered what else she could be lying to me about. Listening to these people I have to go back 3 more times 1. to get the other half of my deep cleaing 2. to the tooth/teeth pulled 3. to fill my cavities (and take out a filling that i had before that is fine but rumor has it she only uses white fillings so that might be why she wants that one out)

I feel like this is too many trips. They keep telling me I need the extraction before the filling. Why? I would go to another dentist but then they’d have to do x-rays and stuff all over again and that would max out my insurance. What to do what to do? Should I just stick it out with this woman?
Oh one other thing…when she looked at my hurting tooth she was likeoh my goodness honey how are you not screaming in pain. I would be screaminig in pain like she’s never seen a dental problem before. Something is fishy…and Mar C I can do without all the smarty pants attitude. I asked the question for a reason, if you don’t have ananswer that’s fine but no need to be an ass. My dad is 65. He’s 200 lbs and about 5′4. He has a little belly. He basically sits in front of the TV the whole day, and has a high blood pressure. He drinks like once every two weeks, and nothing more than beer (usually wine, though). He eats quite a bit of rice and roti (Indian flat bread), and doesn’t have much spicy food (spicy meaning hot, he eats food with various spices and herbs). He eats quite a bit, and is always looking for a snack. Every 20-30 minutes, we find him with another snacks such as nuts and fruit (usually healthy stuff). He has gout (high uric acid). Everything else in his body in in normal range such as sugar, cholesterol, and other such stuff. His blood pressure gets slightly higher on occasion, and he can feel it. He knows when his blood pressure is high, and keeps checking it regularly. He hasn’t had any major health problems, as long as I can remember. He’s not very active, but one thing does scare me. He can sleep at any time. Like sometimes we walk in the living room, and see him sleeping, and we wake him up, and in two minutes, he’s sleeping again. He always denies that he’s sleeping, but he clearly is. He also snores quite heavily, but that has toned down a bit in the past few weeks. We always keeps worrying a lot, and never seems to be relaxed. HIs family has a record of high blood pressure, and his father ultimately dies of a heart attack.

My mother is 55. She’s 190 lbs and about 5′1. She’s clearly overweight. Her mother recently passed away from a diabetes related complication. My mother said that she had high sugar until I was born, and then it went away. She has similar eating habits like my father. Everything with her is normal, but has a borderline sugar and triglycerides. She loves sweets, but has cut back quite a bit lately. She is optimistic but still feels helpless sometimes. She ponders in deep thoughts for a while then emerges with high spirits. She has quite an active social life with like 1 party a week (at least). She has some problems sleeping sometimes, but she makes up for it by having afternoon naps. She’s a stay at home mom who keeps cooking and cleaning, so she’s busy all the time, but she really hates the job.

What are the chances of my parents living to be old, and how can I increase their chances? I want them to live long, so please be serious.

I’ve had a nanny for about the past three months or so. I have two small children and have had live-in nannies in the past, who have been able to work long hours, keep the house clean, etc as long as I make sure I cover all their housing, food expenses, etc. Then on top of that I pay them $1500 per month.

This nanny I’ve done my best to make a part of the family because of her lonely background. But I’ve a few issues: A- she is constantly on the phone to her long-distance boyfriend who is very rough and uneducated, and verbally abuses her a lot. B- she really doesn’t keep up with the housework in a satisfactory manner and C- she is constantly pressuring me about money and so on.

To be fair, I’ve been late with about $100 or so of her past few bi-weekly payments, but I’ve always paid her after a few days and arranged for all her favorite foods, icecreams, etc. I buy her whatever liquor she wants, whatever clothes she wants. She gets the full $1500 by month’s end and I get stuck with all the bills and working my tushy off to make ends meet. Then, she makes little remarks here and there about her using her own detergent to do family laundry (I’ve ALWAYS bought her detergent, so not sure what she is talking about!) and asking the rest of the family not to eat her icecream that she spent with her money. But I buy her everything and share everything I own with her!

She loves my kids which is why I have kept her around. But she alienates the rest of the family by constantly being on the phone with mark during family dinners and so on. I know I am remiss in being late on her pay, but the economy is horrible and we just had to move, my pay was cut by 50% and I am just not sure how to make ends meet, yet I do so!

Am I paying her too much, considering she gets her entire life funded by ME, or am I wrong? I know she works hard but NOT as hard as I do, yet at the end of the day I am the one in the beggar’s position! and SHE gets to keep all MY money! Is it ok for her to make these insensitive remarks about her stuff when I work so hard to include her into our family? I treat her like a little sister.

Am I wrong here and she is right, or am I being used and should stop being so soft hearted with this girl and let her find out just how tough the REAL world is?

iv been having some problems with my t reg (1999) volkswagen polo 1.4cl over heating, and i hope someone can help me out.

basically about 5 months ago my car over heated for no reason, so i took it into a garage, they fixed it, saying it was an electrical problem (not to sure cos as far as im aware the only electrical thing in a coolant sytem on my car is the fan, and that was working (dodgy garage?)), i also noticed tho that my heater no longer blew hot air after they fixed it, was working fine before i took it in, or before it overheated.

couple of weeks down the line, my car over heated again, this time i called out recovery and as a temporary fix the mechanic took the thermostat out, as long as i drove it slowly it would remain at working tTemperature and i fitted a new thermostat within the next couple of days and the car ran fine for 4 months or so

yesterday for no apparent reason my car over heated again, i stopped soon as i noticed and found there was no coolant left, i only checked it 2 or so days ago and the level was fine.

so today i took the thermostat out, and tested the thermostat in a pot of water, it opened up, but now remains stuck open ., i connected the hhousingback together and checked to see if the car over heated without the thermostat, which it did, if rrev edfor any amount of time the car over hhe atesand continues to over heat even if stopped rreeving the most worrying thing for me is that when you do rev, there is a lot of liquid ccomingfrom the exhaust, i cant tell wwhetherthis is just water or coolant, as i only filled my system with water 2day bbecausei was believing it was a leak and ddidn’twwannawaste coolant.

the fan does kick in at working temp, but ddoesn’tseem to bring the temp down
the hoses leading to and from the radiator are very hot (hotter than normal) and feel like there under pressure (hard to squeeze)
the oil is still clean, not wwaiteddown or milky.
no white smoke is eemittedfrom exhaust.
no leaks appearing from aany were even after car has been running for a while.
and iv bleed the coolant system eevery timeiv topped it/ refilled it replaced the thermostat eetc

so if u have any ideas, i would much appreciate them, im thinking its along the lines a moving airlock?, or head gasket?

She is playful and lets her inner child shine through. She’s witty and draws me in with her words and quick thinking. She is so charming and can get on my good side in a heartbeat. She’s somewhat old fashioned when it comes to dating and wants to take things slow and She’s a little reclusive and plays hard to get. She likes to hold my hand but not really a touchy feely type of girl. And She said she even feels really comfortable with me even on the meeting me date she said she felt so comfortable she even kissed me yet she swore she doesn’t hardly ever do that, it seems so perfect and we both have hit it off like we might be soul mates. We hold hand everywhere we go.

The trouble is, she also sends mixed signals and leaves me wondering if she is truely interested in me or not, so she’s sort of vague sometimes in her answers with me and wont come right out and say it so she seems a little elusive and seems difficult to pin down. I dont know if she likes me or not. Sometimes if I tell her shes pretty she changes the subject. Its like she wants to keep things very pure or something. Yet we can talk about s ex if its in a fun way or joking casual clean way.

We talk for hours on the phone and enjoy each other for hours, but I still dont know for sure what is going on? Am I MORE of a friend or boyfriend?

We mirror each other a lot too like If I start singing she will finish the lyrics. I told her I wrote a song and it had a girls name in it (its just a song nothing more the name sorta fit si used it) so she says she wrote a song too and it had a guys name in it. And starts singing it But I got a little jealous and asked who’s he?
But shes the sort of person who takes cues from me and then responds in kind, I asked her today if she liked me as a friend or more like a boyfriend? she said there are things about me that she really likes, but things that she doesnt like. She said she thinks I am an attractive guy but wont come right out and tell me unless pressures to answer, she wont say things like I really dig you like crazy or I really like you and I sort of need to hear her say how much she likes me so I can get a better idea of where we stand. I need to know if she likes me but like I said she is a little old fashioned and plays hard to get, sometimes it seems she just isnt that interested in me too like she can take it or leave it sometimes. I cant figure her out? its really bothering me too. Why is it so difficult with her to get her to say she likes me and feels the same.

Well, the office called us and said that someone canceled their appointment, so I could come in a week early. My mom had a job interview at the same time as my appointment, so she checked me in and then left me in the waiting room. I waited for like 45 minutes. Then the nurse finally called me back. She took me into an office, and told me to sit down and wait for the doctor. Like 5 minutes later her and a doctor came into the room. The doctor started to ask me questions, like Are you sexually active?Are your periods regular? and stuff like that. I told him that I’m a virgin and I was there because my pediatrician told me I should go, because my periods were regular but then I had a 10 day long period, and I also had pelvic pain. The doctor said I could go on birth control to regulate my periods, and he would see about the pelvic pain. Then the nurse took me into an examination room and had me put on a robe. She took me into a bathroom and had me pee in a cup, and then she took my height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure. She looked in my eyes, ears, nose, and throat. Then she left and said the doctor should be in there in a few minutes, and for me to lie down on the table and cover up with the sheet. The doctor and nurse came back in about 20 minutes. The doctor listened to my heart, and felt my neck. Then he opened the robe and felt my stomach. He told me to sit up, and said he was going to do a breast exam. He felt around my breasts, and then had me lie back down and felt them more. Then the nurse had me scoot up to the edge of the table and she put my feet into these metal things. Then the doctor sat at the foot of the table, and the nurse held my legs open. The doctor started out by feeling the top of my pelvis, (like where all the hair is), and then started to feel and look at the outside of my vagina. Then he put something cold all around the outside, and put his finger up there and put more on the inside. He just felt around for about 30 sec. after that. Then he put like two of his fingers up inside my vagina and pushed on the top of my pelvis. It hurt really bad, and it took him like two minutes to get them in there, because I was like crying it hurt so bad. Then after that he took this cold metal thing, and tried to put it up there, but it hurt so bad, I made him stop. He left the room to find a different one. The nurse asked me if I would be okay, and I said that it hurt really bad. She said it’ll be over soon. So, I had to lay there for like 5 more min. until the doctor came back. He tried putting a different metal thing in there again, but it still hurt. He told me to relax, and that it would only take a second if I just let him do it. So, it hurt really bad, and I bled a little, but he got it in there. Then he took a cotton swab thing and put it inside, and then another thing. He finally took out the metal thing. Then he put his finger up my butt, that hurt pretty bad too. He said he needed to do the bi manual exam over again, because he thought he felt something wrong. So he stuck his hand up there again, and he said I was fine. Then he left and the nurse helped me get up. She gave me a wipe and said to go to the bathroom and clean up, and then get dressed. I did that, and then the doctor talked to my mom for a little bit and said I need to come back in next week, and get further testing.

They swung crazily, but I held on tight. Her pale skin grew red under the pressure, and I tugged with all my strength. Bracing my feet, I yanked her back. She fell against me, and I closed my arms around her thin form, partly to stop her jumping, partly to comfort her. And maybe me as well. She struggled at first, pushing against my trained arms, then the wriggles subsided and I uncoiled my arms, and she laid almost still, body wracked with little sobs.
“All I’ve ever wanted was to be loved. Since the fire, no one cared about me. All the other neophytes thought I was a freak, the instructors ignored me and the Guildmaster never even turned his eye near to me.” She wailed. “I should have died with my parents. I should have-“

“I – I –“She began, and then dissolved into harder tears. She rolled over, her clothes tearing a little on the brick shards, clinging to me like I was the last safe place in the world. I tucked my hand around her waist and pulled her up, so we were both sitting. I stroked her hair, the light brown curls rippling under my fingers. She laid her head under my chin, and I put my arms around her shoulders. It was getting dark by the time her sobs began to quiet, and my own shirt was soaked through with her tears.
“Mae?” I said quietly.
“Mmm?” she mumbled into my shirt.
“Look at me, please.” She raised her head. Her eyes were puffy and her skin was damp, but a long, shallow gash ran down the side of her face. I pulled a relatively clean rag out of my pocket and began rubbing at her face, rhythmically in little circles, purposely avoiding the cut. It looked raw and sore, and I didn’t want to hurt her right now. “We have to get back soon, Mae. It’s not safe out here at night.”

i was building a cute cupcake stand for my son’s first birthday (it looks like presents stacked up. 3 layers…but anyway! haha) i was on the floor cutting through the box with the edge of my scissors, using my right food (no shoes..UGH!!!) to hold it in place. it was sliding through slowly until it hit a soft spot in the box and slid right through two of my toes!! the 3rd and 4th toe…i didn’t feel a thing, i just watched it happen and was like OH! SHIT! and it took a few seconds to start bleeding..and it bled a lot until i applied pressure to it. once it stopped bleeding i cleaned it and bandaged it up. the 3rd toe had the tip, just under my nail, cut almost clean off..it’s hanging on by a little bit. i have the skin laid back in place and covered tightly with a bandage. the 4th toe got a pretty deep gash through it, but after having a bandage on it tightly, it looks like it will heal nicely. it doesn’t hurt at all. the other toe, however, may not be so lucky…i thought it would be fine at first because it didn’t hurt much (all i felt was throbbing) but i hit my toes on the bottom of the table and it started bleeding everywhere again :[ is it going to have to come off to heal or do you think it will stay on if i take more care to keep it safe, clean, and bandaged??? maybe it should have gotten stitches, but i dont have any money to do that..*sigh* i dont really want to put super glue on it either like i’ve been hearing. and i dont want an infection.. i’ll tell you what it looks like- you can barely tell it’s cut because it is laying right back where it was, but it is slightly white. i think that is just because it has been in the bandage for 24 hours before i changed it (i’ve had small cuts that turn white from being too moist in the bandaid so i figure it’s the same) am i right? or is it dead and a total loss?? if i lost it, it would pretty much look like a dent in my toe..which i guess isn’t all that bad because it’s just a toe…but uhm..yahhh, i would like to still have it anyway haha would it grow back if i did lose the skin??? is that a dumb question? anyway..i’m just rambling on and on..please set my mind at ease. is my poor toe ok??
